Today was the second day of band camp. We've already learned pre-game and we are practicing half-time music. Of course, the weather has been bad. Yesterday, it was too hot. I ended up going to my friends house and going swimming. Today, it was raining, but I went to my friend's house to go swimming again anyway. We also brought another friend. We all thought that we wouldn't be allowed to go swimming since it was raining, but we put on our suits and went down to the pool anyway. We weren't in the pool long before the rain died down and then stopped. That was fun.
School will be starting soon. It feels like summer vacation just started. I'm not ready to back to school. I just found out that one of my teachers gave out papers for summer homework. Well, actually it was sent to our 8th period class on the last day of school. I didn't have an 8th period class! So I never got the paper. I thought that she would have it on her website but she didn't. I'll probably just drop that class and take an easier one.
It makes me sad that summer vacation is coming to an end:(

I'm totally disgusted
Well the trading deadline just ended today but I know who the Indians should get rid of next-Mark Shapiro. He just got rid of all of the team's good players (most of them anyway). I was mad when he traded Betancourt, Garko, Francisco, and especially Cliff Lee, but the trading of Victor Martinez today has just disgusted me. I could understand if they would have only traded one of them, Martinez or Lee, but not both. It really angers me. It's hard to be a loyal fan in these times. I've never liked Shapiro and I don't think that he will ever make it on my good side. Tomorrow is Victor Martinez bobblehead and I'm going to that game (which I'm not so sure is a good idea since I'm so mad about the trade). I know that they had to get rid of Martinez but they should have waited until the off-season.
And while I'm at it, writing all the things that I don't like about the Indians right now (other than they have a horrible record) is that I hate the name Progressive Field. It will always be Jacobs and those progressive insurance commercials get on my nerves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yesterday, I went to my aunts house for our 4th of July party (it was really late this year). Then we went to Cleveland. On our way home, I was determined not to fall asleep because I didn't to be in a bad mood when I got home. So I listened to my iPod on the way home. It was around one in the morning and we had just gotten in Toledo when a car whizzed by us. I watched the car go by and I was thinking, Wow, where are the police? This guy is going to hurt somebody. Well a little bit behind the car was a police car and way farther back was another cop car. We watched the cars exit and thought that it would be the end that we would see of that chase. A little later, we were going over a bridge and I saw 2 cop cars below us. They too had joined in the chase. It was exciting. My mom said that it was on the news this morning and that they did catch the car.
A couple of days ago, I saw the new Harry Potter movie. I didn't think that I would like it since I've only liked the 1st two. But it was actually funny. Some scenes did go to long and there were multiple times when I was bored, but it wasn't too bad.
Last week, I went to my brothers baseball game. They made it to the finals but they lost. The team that they versed were a dirty team. The short stop would whack the ball on the back of the runners back. It was so loud that I could hear it from where I was sitting. The guy was in the base runners way and the ump didn't say anything about it until my brothers coach said something about it. He was blocking the base. And this is what gets me. Their bats where huge. They had 4 bats that were exactly alike and they looked in good condition. These were the big bats. When my brothers coach asked what size they were, all 4 of those bats sizes had been scraped off so they didn't know and they didn't bother measuring it. The umps were horrible too. The home plate ump was calling strikes that came up to the kids eyes. Our teams coach almost got ejected. He was arguing with all of the umps bad calls. Once the home ump said that the batter did swing at a ball then asked the other ump if he did go and that ump said that he didn't so the home ump changed his call to a ball. The other ump was standing at 2nd so there was no way he could tell it the kid really did swing or not. It's not even his call. And of course, it wasn't our batter. The worst part of the game, I think, was that we had to pay for everyday that we went. I thought that it was a waste of money and that we shouldn't have to pay to watch our brother play. We wasted over $30 (so I thought that we should have had better umps). Anyway my brothers team was runner-ups and that's good. They still got medals and a trophy.

All in a little over a week
So school has only been out for a week and already I have done so much. I've had a friend spend the night and I spent the night at that same friends house ( we had A Nightmare on Elm Street movie night). I went to Cedar point and Cleveland. I've seen Twilight (which I didn't think was too bad, but I hated the book) and Taken (which was amazing!!). Plus, I've gone on bike rides. I'm leaving for Columbus today. Also, I just got done voting 25 times for the All-Star game.
Yesterday, my grandma had a doctors appointment and I went with her and my mom. We had to take an elevator up. I hate elevators. I'm always afraid that it will get stuck with me in it. This was the worst elevator that I've ever been in. It made me sick. We went up one floor and I was already feeling nausea. I was extremely dizzy when I got off and it took me a while to lose the feeling. I waited in the waiting room for my grandma and ended up reading some article about diets. The trip back down in the elevator wasn't as bad.
In the hotel in Columbus, I hope that I don't have to use an elevator!

It's only Wednesday
So today was the senior assembly and it was boring. I almost fell asleep during it. I had my back against the wall so I tried to lean on it so I wouldn't fall asleep. It's not just that it's a really long and boring assembly. I think it's nice assembly where seniors get reconized. But I haven't slept well in the last few weeks and last night was no exception. I stayed up doing my french homework and watching a baseball game (which was sort of painful to watch because one of the players got hurt and he was in obvious pain). With the school year coming to a close, I have still so much to do, but that list is slowly getting smaller.
I worry a lot but right now I'm really worried about my exams, especially my WWII exam and my creative writing exam. I gave my flashdrive, which had both of my exams on it, to one of my partners (we had groups for WWII) so we could put all of our presentations together. I don't know who has the flashdrive, though I have an idea, but I hope he doesn't lose it. Otherwise my whole group will be in trouble and I don't want to retype my creative writing project. Anyway, I'll find out about those in an hour.
Right now I'm in creative writing class sit next to my friend Liz. She's blogging too. She blogs a lot and I don't understand how she does it because I have hard times thinking about what to write.

Exams:(
School is almost out and I still have a lot of projects. Well, they're actually part of my exam. For French (which I've known about since Thursday or sometime around that) is due sometime this week. I thought it was due Thursday, but then today the teacher mentioned it being due tomorrow. Which stinks because I haven't even started on it. Doesn't really matter because if I knew the real date, then I would wait to do it the day before.
Then there is WWII. That's a group project. It's supposed to be 10 to 15 mins, but when I timed myself, it was a little over 4 mins. That's too long for me. There are 2 other people in my group so I'm afraid that we are going to go over. I think I still have a lot to do with that project and it's due tomorrow.
Good news is that once I make it through this week, I should be fine. I only have 2 exams next week and all weekend to study for them, which I doubt I will do because I meant to study last weekend and I didn't. I procrastinate. Plus, my friend and I are planning to camp out in her backyard. Her neighbors dogs never stop barking though.
I'm ready for summer vacationl:)

Ride Your Bike To Work Day
Since today is ride your bike to work day, me and my friend decided to ride our bikes to school. We don't live that far, only a couple of miles, but riding was exhausting. I've walked home from school many times, so I've never paid attention to all of the slopes, which were really hard to ride up. On top of that, my brakes don't work and that didn't help me going down. Plus, I had a lot of books in my bookbag. The day is only a little over half way over and I already know that I have two big books to take home. I haven't been to math yet, but I know that I'll have homework in that class, so I'll probably have to take that book home too. Anyway, when we reached the school, we didn't know how to put the chain on. Neither of us has used one and I didn't even own one until last night. Well let's just say that I hope my bike is still there. Otherwise I'm stuck walking.

Dandelions
So small and yellow, though they mean a lot to many people for different reasons. To a little kid coming home from school, the flower shows love when it's given to mothers. The dandelion gives color to spring, making the grass have a dotted yellow appearance. Dandelions are like birth, for every spring the dandelions come to life. Dandelions are also death, for like everything in this world, they die. They can also cause anger. My mom doesn't like them so she made me cut most of them in my backyard and now it's full of them. They are just like rabbits, leave a few alone and when you come back, there's a lot more.

Cleveland
I'm glad it's Friday because I'm going to Cleveland tomorrow. I'm going to an Indians game, which I know will have a lot of the seats filled, since their versing the Tigers. Last time I went to an Indians-Tigers game, the place was packed and I sat near the flagpole. I didn't pay a lot of attention to the game because two annoying girls in front of me kept turning around to look at my family. It got so annoying that I almost said something to them, I literally had to bite my tongue, which is sad because I don't like to talk. Anyways, I hope traffic isn't bad (It's about a 3 hour drive if my family doesn't take the turnpike and a little less than 3 hours if we do) and I hope that the Indians win. (I'm a bad fan, I'm really not expecting it).

It's Friday!
I'm so glad it's the weekend. I've had so many projects this week. Sometimes I think teachers get together to decide the today when they will all give projects. I've had creative writing (which I've known about for a couple weeks), French, and English. There was a time my Freshman year when my French and English teachers both made their students do brochures at the same time. That's when I became very suspicious about teachers deciding to give projects on the same day. Also, I'm tired.
I have no big plans for this three day weekend. I might watch my brothers race their cars for their Pine Wood Derby, but then I have to be there by 8:30 a.m. I'm just glad that I have no homework. I was supposed to go to a basketball game tonight to play with the band, but now I don't think that I am. I've gone to 8 out of 12 of those games this year, which is as many as the last two years combined, and I'm sick of them.
It's also Friday the 13th. I've never seen the first part of Friday the 13th, but I saw the second part and I don't understand it. I followed the movie all the way up to the end, but at the very end, I got lost and didn't understand what happened.
I love reading most poems. My all-time favorite poem is Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening, by Robert Frost. I found part of that poem in a Dean Koontz book that I read and I really like the poem. The book was really good also. It's my third favorite.
The days not completely over yet. I still have a math test.
Well anyways, I'm just glad it's Friday.

Not Plain Jane
So I spent an hour looking for a blog to write about for my creative writing class and doing my French homework at the same time and I finally found a blog that I like. The poems in Not Plain Jane are really good, though they were created by different people.
One can easily tell that Jane loves to knit, due to she has a bunch of pictures of it and she talks about it alot. I have no idea how to knit. She also has a list about her blogging experience, which is kind of creative. She is also fighting cancer. The blog is mostly about knitting, with some poems, but it is creative.

Books
When you open a book, a new life begins.
You follow the character through its journey,
All the way to the end.
When the book ends, the character dies,
Unless there is a sequel.
But like everything, the character will die.
Books have an ending and so does life.
There is no sequel to life and the only
Way your life can carry on after you're gone,
Is through your children.
Books are like life and they both
End.
My poem compares books to life. Life has journeys and books are filled with adventures that the characters go on. Books end and so does life. There are sequels to books, but no matter how many of the books in a series there are, they will eventual end. That can be compared to life because all living things die. I love to read and that helped inspire me to write this poem. I'm usually always sad when I come to the end of a book because the adventure is over.

Random things
Hey! My name is Kayla and I go to school in Ohio. I'm not a big blogger fan and this is my first one. My favorite color is red and I'm a big sports fan. I'm probably not going to watch the Superbowl but I'm going for the Cardinels because they are the underdogs and I'm sick of hearing about the Steelers.
At school, I'm really quiet but at home, I'm loud and I'm also loud with friends. My friend almost got kicked out of her apartment because her cousin and me were so loud. We stayed up to two in the morning laughing. They're wierd. Plus when I went to Canada with the band, parents from the other band that we went with us yelled at us for being loud and stayed outside our door for a little while. They had a room next to us and they were constantly flushing the toilet. That was a fun trip.
This year, I'm going to Florida with the band. It's going to be great, especially since I haven't been to Florida for a while and I'll be with friends.
I enjoy reading books. Currently, I have been reading a lot of Dean Koontz. He has a way of pulling one into books. They are filled with suspense but they are for horror fans because the books I have read have disgusting things in them.
I love to travel. Last summer I went to Gettysburg and that was very interesting. Itook a ghost tour, which kind of cost a lot. It was fun because I learned a lot on the tour, though I didn't see anything. I went to Mount Rushmore once and it was amazing how the rock was sculpted and how no one died in the making. I thought it would be a little bigger but it was still amazing how big the rock was and how it was man made.
I like learning about history. It's so interesting.
